489 ilvl FIRST DAY of Season 4 - The Ultimate PREP GUIDE

With Season 4 also comes new ilvl updates on all previous gear from many sources in Dragonflight. This means that you can already now start farming different currencies, items and more and be fit for fight on the first day when Season 4 goes live.

There are some events that you can only do once before Season 4 goes live. The other tasks can be done several times before Season 4 goes live.

The “one-time” tasks:

Community Feast
Dragonbane Keep
Fyrrak chest
Superbloom

The “several-times” tasks:

Dreamsurge Coalescence (Gear tome)
Dreamsurge Cocoon
Dilated Time Pod

Here are the more indepth info on what to do for each event. If you follow these steps on your main or alt character, then your charcter(s) will become 489 ilvl.
However, things might change when this goes live, so don´t come here and complain about it.

Dreamsurge Coalescence: 460 Explorer (FULL GEAR)

The Dreamsurge is a zone event that will be active in one of the four zones in Dragon Isles (Waking Shores, Oh´naran Plains, Azure Span and Thladraszus). It will be up at the weekly reset and last until the next weekly reset where it will be active in another of the zones and rotate like that. You can see which zone that has the event by looking for the Dreamsurge icon. Mouseover will also give you some more information on it.

All mobs have a high chance on dropping Dreamsurge Coalescence which is a currency to buy 460 ilvl Gear tokens. This gear is explorer gear that can be upgraded to 476 ilvl with only Flightstones, no crests needed. The tokens are for each gear slot except for trinkets. The tokens are account bound so you can send them to your alternate characters. They all cost 100 Dreamsurge Coalescence each no matter what gear slot it is but that is likely to change.

Dreamsurge Cocoon Currency: 480- ilvl Veteran (once a week save)

The Deamsurge Vendor offers 480 Veteran Gear for purchase, using the currency known as Dreamsurge Cocoon. These items cover all armor slots, including necklaces, rings, and weapons (excluding trinkets).

Do every weekly from now to get 1 Dreamsurge cocoon per character per week.

When Season 4 goes live, you buy the new updated gear with Dreamsurge Cocoon and get 480 ilvl Veteran Gear based on how many Cocoons you have farmed.

Dilated Time Pod Currency: 460-476 ilvl Explorer

In World of Warcraft, players have the opportunity to obtain a currency known as Dilated Time Capsules from time rift bosses. These Dilated Time Capsules can be used to purchase 460 Explorer gear from Shi Everbreeze, who is located next to the Time Rift event at coordinates /way 51.2, 56.8. It's important to note that the first Dilated Time Capsule for the week is obtained from the first boss kill, but it has been reported by other players that they have received more than one in a week. All items available for purchase using Dilated Time Capsules, including every armor slot, usable weapons, and trinkets, cost 1 Dilated Time Capsule each. The gear is of 460 Explorer quality, and it can be upgraded all the way to 476 item level using Flightstones, without the need for crests.

Fyrrak - Weekly Chest: 460 Explorer / might change to Veteran 480 ilvl

There is an event that is located in Ohnaran Plains or Azure Span, and called Fyrakk Assault. When entering the area, the sky changes color and there are full of mobs and quests. One part of the event is to get 3 Eeverburning Keys that are needed to open a Secured Shipment chest. This chest contains 460 Explorer quality, and it can be upgraded all the way to 476 item level using Flightstones, without the need for crests. But since this can be done only once a week, we will probably see a change during the PTR in which the ilvl quality will be increased to a Adventurer or Veteran.

This can only be done once before Season 4 goes live since this is a chest that you open with keys. What you do is to farm 3 Everburning Keys before Season 4 goes live. Open the chest with the keys when Season 4 is live.

Dragonbane Keep: 480 ilvl Veteran (once a week save)

You get a cache as reward when completing this event. So basically, you can do this already now and save up your caches until Season 4 goes live. Once it is live, you open your bags and this will rewar you 480 ilvl Veteran gear.

Superbloom: 460 Explorer / might change to Veteran 480 ilvl(once a week save)

Community Feast 480 ilvl Veteran (once a week save)
